At Sabal Academy we want the students to be involved, here is a list of all the clubs at our school:
Best Buddies
Chess Club
Debate Team- Debates will be done using the Lincoln Douglas format
GSA- We are dedicated to promoting tolerance and to creating a safe space for all students regardless of sexual orientation. During meetings, we will discuss issues relating to sexual discrimination, and gender issues. We will also share information on the history of such subjects, attempt to educate the student body, and organize relevant out of school events. Last year, the GSA sold ribbons for Aids research, participated in school-wide diversity event, participated in the National Day of Silence, and had movie night. We hope to plan additional activities. Members are expected to be honest, keep an open mind, and honor confidentially requested of them.

Book Club- To examine modern literature, discuss current books and learn from our peers about the way those texts influence society and how we see things.
Drama Club- We try to actively involve students in drama. At meetings, we will discuss upcoming shows and drama related events. The club will host informal theatre activities at lunch and after school as well as organize field trips to see professional shows. Through the drama club, thespians and non-thespians and will be a means of congregating and sharing their love of theatre.
Enviornmental Club- The Environmental Club meets every Tuesday after school to recycle the school’s paper and plastic bottles. We also organize fundraisers like water bottle sales and outside-of-school events to contribute to the community’s green effort. We also initiate school energy conservation projects
Fashion Club- This club intends to get people together who have a “passion for fashion” and share their ideas and perspective of fashion. The club will meet in the beginning of the year to discuss upcoming events such as the fashion show. When it gets closer to mid November the club will meet every two weeks. During the meeting, everyone will share their designs for the fashion show which will take place near the end of the school year. The fashion show would be a great activity to get student designers to create and show off their designs. People also interested in modeling, fashion hair and makeup would get an opportunity also. The members are expected to come to the majority of the meetings. They are also expected to help out with the fashion show in the spring.
Habitat for Humanity- Habitat for Humanity works with individuals, institutions, businesses and the Habitat Families themselves to build simple decent affordable housing for those living in substandard conditions in our community. Club mission: To raise awareness in our community for the need of affordable housing. To work side by side with the MC of MD affiliate to educate, advocate, raise funds and volunteer to help support their needs. SSL hours are available.

To enhance international understanding and friendship through educational, cultural, and humanitarian activities involving the exchange of ideas and experiences directly among peoples of different countries and diverse cultures. We are planning educational/international focus like book drives, community service at local or international level, fundraising like bake sales, and concession stand, and social event/membership recruitment drive like dinners and social gatherings.
